The overall objective of the project was to provide further institutional support to solid waste utilities in Kosovo, with the objective to provide to the citizens and enterprises/public institutions of Kosovo a stable solid waste service at affordable prices.

The project consisted of the following:

Organisational and operational support focusing on efficiency gains through improved organisation of daily operations and improved management; extended rural service coverage and enhanced customer service; improved asset maintenance procedures; strengthened customer services and compliance with the WWRO regulation; and
Financial management support focusing on development of financial self-sustainability, cost recovery, improved billing and collection, financial control systems and development of business planning.
