Project Description:

The overall objective of the project was to strengthen the protection of water resources, water quality and public health. More specifically, the contract aimed to strengthen the capacity of the Water Directorate of Serbia to manage water resources, to provide improved access to information and data on water resources, and to promote the inter-institutional exchange of information and data on water resources.

The project included the following activities:

• Preparation of an Action Plan for development and implementation of a Water Resource Management Information System (WRMIS) and associated Decision Support Systems in Serbia;
• Preparation of a detailed design for the WRMIS and basic Decision Support Systems and general design of the Advanced Decision Support Systems;
• Development and implementation of WRMIS and basic Decision Support Systems;
• Preparation of all necessary technical documentation for the WRMIS and association Decision Support Systems;
• Preparation of Detailed Design for the Advanced Decision Support.
