Project Description:
The purpose of the RDP was to strengthen the institutional capacity of local administrations to undertake socially, economically and technically viable investments in infrastructures to rural inhabitants. The final objective of the project was to increase the access of rural inhabitants to markets and social services and to improve water and sanitation services. This was achieved by building local capacity for making rural investments, and providing investment grant funding for roads and water and sanitation sub-projects.
Types of services provided within the project included, among others:
- Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Local Authorities and Rural Communities;
- Strengthening of Project Preparation and Project Management Structures;
- Training of Public Officials and Rural Clients;
- Preparation of rural infrastructure projects;
- Facilitation, Public Participation and Public Awareness.
