Project Description:

The project included construction of a water distribution pipeline in order to guarantee water supply in La Mancha plain. Water used originates from Tajo-Segura aqueduct and provides water for domestic use to a population of 500,000 inhabitants. Long-term benefits of the project include regeneration of underground aquifers because of lower water detraction.

Activities performed within the project included:

  • Revision and analysis of demands and the needed supply;
  • Feasibility study for potable water treatment station;
  • Previous geological-geotechnical study;
  • Topographical work and redesigning;
  • Study for solutions in the water supply;
  • Environmental impact assessment;
  • General planning of infrastructures;
  • Exploitation and control study;
  • Hydraulic system modelling.
