For the last 14 months, a team of local and international engineers from a consortium led by EPTISA have been working in the preparation of the design and tender documents for the rehabilitation and extension of the sewerage network and for the construction of the new Wastewater Treatment Plan with a capacity of 95,000 P.E.. These investments will lead to a significant improvement of the water quality in the Prilepska River and in the general public health standards of the project area.

The project, financed by the IPA programme from the European Union with 800,000 Euro, is of great importance for the city of Prilep, since its 76,000 inhabitants will get a new wastewater collection and treatment facility that will reduce the health hazards and will minimize the risk of contamination of the drinking water sources. The new facilities will also improve the overall environmental situation and will eventually contribute to the economic growth not only in the town of Prilep, but also in the greater surrounding region.
