Project Description:
The overall aim of the project was to support the “Public Water Company for Adriatic Sea Catchment” in the implementation of an integrated water management system for the Neretva River catchment.
The specific objectives of the project were:
- Improvement of the current measurement station network of the upper Neretva River Basin;
- Creation of a digital simulation model to manage the upper Neretva River Basin;
- Definition of proper operating rules for the existing reservoirs and the set-up of a regulating framework to allow effective cooperation between the Water Company and the hydro-electric power companies;
- Preparation of an Action Plan for the future river basin management administration.
