Project Description:

The primary objective of the project was strengthening of the management capacity of the Ministry of Public Works on the evaluation of environmental aspects in infrastructure projects.

The works included:

• Development of a quality assurance system for the implementation units within the Ministry;
• Preparation of the Procedures Manual for the implementation of environmental impact assessments;
• Establishment of permanent liaison structures between both ministries: Ministry of Public Works and Ministry of Environment;
• On-the-job training to public officials.
