The project is financed by the EU PHARE 2006 Programme, with a contract value of 2.25 million EUR.

EPTISA continues to be present in Croatia. In late November 2008, the International Consortium consisted of Ramboll – EPTISA – Project Management Ltd. has been awarded with the two year contract to Develop a National Hazardous Waste Management System.

The overall objective of the project is to improve environmental conditions through the establishment of sound management of hazardous waste. In line with Waste Management Strategy, Waste Act and EU waste management legislation requirements the project will be focused on providing assistance for further development of hazardous waste management system in Croatia, establishment of management and remediation procedures of “hot spot sites”, and further development of hazardous waste data collection system together with upgrade and development of Waste Management Information System.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction in co-operation with the Croatian Environment Agency and Croatian Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, will lead the national institutions responsible for the project implementation, while the project will be implemented by the consortium composed of Ramboll, EPTISA, and PM.
