Mauricio is PhD Civil Engineer and one of the most recognised leaders in our sector both in Spain and internationally. His professional career has been developed mainly in IDOM, from where he joins Eptisa, being General Manager and member of the Executive Committee of the firm. We are sure that he will take Eptisa Engineering Services to new heights.

Mauricio Gómez Villarino

Civil Engineer, MSc, PhD (Madrid Polytechnic University, Dr. Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos); PhD European Special Mention certification (Derby University United Kingdom – Polytechnic University Madrid); CEO-Senior Management Program – PADE- (IESE Business School). Member of the Executive Council of the Spanish Institution of Civil Engineers; Member of the Committee of Infrastructure and Sustainable Development of the Spanish Engineering Institute; Member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association for the Environment; Member of the Board of Directors of the Civil Engineers Foundation Spain. Member of the Board of Directors of BANCOFAR Bank and FAM Insurance Banking Operator (BANCO CAMINOS Group) as independent director.

He started the professional activity in the late 90’s in the Energy Sector in Unión Fenosa-Naturgy Group. In 2003 he joined IDOM Consulting, Engineering and Architecture, developing national and international responsibilities and becoming Corporate Director for the United Kingdom in 2008.  In 2011 he was appointed Managing Director of IDOM-Madrid (+800 professionals) and in 2012 Member of IDOM GROUP Executive Committee.

Has been Professor at Madrid Polytechnic University for 14 years (fields of Project Management, Sustainability, Climate Change, Strategic Environmental Assessment, and Planning and Infrastructure Assessment) and Director of several masters and courses in the fields of project management and infrastructure sustainability and resilience. Author of five technical books, and many papers, in the fields of engineering consultancy, sustainability and environmental management. Speaker/collaborator with ICEX (Spanish institution for international commerce), Madrid Polytechnic University, Harvard University, Georgetown University, IDB, World Bank, EBRD, among other international Institutions.

Recipient of several awards (e.g. Best Young Engineer by the Inst. of Civil Engineers; Best Project University Award by Madrid Polyt. University; Best Research Work Uralita Awards; Award for the best paper in Environment by FIDA Foundation).

Experience in Spain, UK, Portugal, Algeria, China, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, USA, France, Turkey, Malaysia, Jordan among others. Relationship with senior officials of public bodies from +20 countries; diplomats; businessmen of industrial organizations, financial entities and multilateral financing organizations (WB, UN, IDB, EBRD, ADB, EIB,…) and directors of very diverse international firms.
