Project Description:
The Technical Assistance project referred to modernization and rehabilitation of water distribution networks and installation of new consumer service connection and water meters. It included activities developed in 39 locations/work sites within 5 regional areas, summing a total length of 515 km water networks.
The overall project objective was to support the Ministry of European Integration, the implementing authority Ministry of Administration and Interior, and the local beneficiaries (PIUs) in the successful management and supervision of the works contracts of the second phase of implementation of SAMTID Programme.
Specific project objectives included:
- Management of the ensuing works contracts and supervision of their implementation, acting as the Engineer according to FIDIC conditions of contract for Construction;
- Provision of theoretical and on-the-job training to the works contracts beneficiaries (PIUs).
