Project Description:

The overall objective of the project was the construction of two tunnels, having 1,225 m and 2,380 m respectively of longitude.

Works description:

  • 5 doubles viaducts; viaduct of Espana river (E-4), having 592 m of longitude, and 90,6 m of altitude over the river bed;
  • 1 connection in the Arroes locality, including one connection with the N-632 highway, two viaducts and two overpasses;
  • 4 overpasses designated to roads and highways junction and 2 underpasses for roads junction;
  • 1 wall of 420 m of longitude and 6 green walls;
  • Local highway and roads variants;
  • Lighting system for Arroes connection and junction with N-632 highway;
  • Tunnels security installations and roads security elements;
  • Environmental correction measures (e.g. collection pools for toxic residues of the tunnels);
  • Rehabilitation of services roads, horizontal and vertical signalisation, system lighting, transversal and longitudinal drainage, by covered culvers.

Types of services provided included:

  • Technical assistance for works supervision;
  • Solutions for technical problems which may appear during the works execution;
  • Implementation supervision and monitoring and development of insurance plan of Contractor Quality;
  • Environmental impact assessment;
  • Works Quality Control: qualitative and geometrical exterior control of the quality and quantitive control of executed works;
  • Supervision of the completion of the dispositions in law concerning provisional works signalisation and security and health.
