Project Description:
The project consisted of the institutional strengthening and implementation of a training programme in the Ministry of Energy and Mining in order to build its staff capacity and to enhance the development of geo-scientific mapping in the Kingdom of Morocco.
The main project tasks included:
- Institutional support and capacity strengthening of the Ministry of Energy and Mining and 4 Regional Centres;
- Staff training on GIS usage, human resources planning; training organisation and training needs assessment;
- Public awareness and organisation of study tours;
- GEO system implementation: Installation of an integrated and coherent computerised system in order to provide the National Direction for Geology and its Regional Centres with the necessary technology to carry out the geo-scientific mapping in the country.
